Documentary wedding photography doesn't mean quick snap shots!
Shots are carefully planned and thought out regarding position, light and background.
The wedding ceremony itself can present challenges if it's a church wedding as the light is often either very poor or has high contrast with bright highlights and deep shadow.
The art of good documentary wedding photography is to work with these things and create a beautiful image
Wedding Photographer Colchester
Photographing weddings is a challenge.
Okay it's possible to take it easy - just get the shots that are in front of you and be satisfied with that.
But to get outstanding wedding photographs takes effort.
To be in the right place
at the right time
with the right camera set-up and lens
And also to be patient for the exact right moment when light, moment and composition are all just right
However it's my belief that no wedding photography would be complete without a few "staged" shots of the Bride and Groom where I can create the perfect lighting, background and pose.
These shots take some time to set-up but I only invite the couple over to get the photo when everything is ready so they only spend a couple of minutes getting shots that they'll love forever.
I also listen to the bride and groom, what do they like, what is their character and I'll try and create an image that compliments who they are.
I offer half and full day wedding photography in Colchester and all of East Anglia. Please get in touch as I also offer a FREE Engagement photo-shoot where you can meet me with no obligation and see how I work, get some great photos and decide if I'm the right photographer for your wedding.
