The Best Wedding Photography is Where You Just Be You....
Wedding Photographer Ipswich
The "art" of documentary wedding photography is to be ready. Ready for anything that from experience you know "might" happen.
Then to have the right lens fitted with the right camera settings and be in the right place.
Sometimes a "hey, over here" is needed but no more.
Usually after a short while people are just completely unaware I'm even there which creates great photos.
Concentrating on "candid" wedding photography doesn't mean you won't get fantastic images.
This one was a spontaneous sparkler moment - the best man grabbed some sparklers and told me he was going outside and would I get a shot. Someone else went and got the happy couple and I had seconds to get ready for a complex off camera night-time flash photograph. It would be easy to spend 15 minutes perfecting the set-up but by then the bride and groom wouldn't look natural - it wouldn't look real.
Another "in the moment" wedding photograph.
The reception was at a country pub and in the summer would have had a beautiful garden, but this was April and too early for shots in the garden so I had to work with nothing - no background nothing.
I waited for it to start to get dark then set up some lights outside with a (in daylight very boring!) lake as the background but used the lighting to accentuate the couple and detract attention from the background. I got everything set then called out the bride and groom and said, "just forget I'm here - do whatever you feel like"
I think the result wasn't too bad!
