Telling the Story of Your Most Special Day in Images....
Every Wedding Photographer does things differently....
Some offer Classic Wedding Photography where the photographer endeavors to make the images look like your grandmothers wedding shots. The emphasis is on formality and most images are posed shots. Back then of course photographers used film and couldn't just rattle off hundreds of shots as is the norm nowadays, hence photos were more deliberate.
Next up is Artistic Wedding Photography where the photographer sets out to get images that would make a great wall poster or framed picture.
Moving on we have Lifestyle Wedding Photography which takes it cues from photojournalism. It's a candid yet directed way of taking wedding photos. So it's about the photographer watching for a suitable moment then just giving a little direction to get the perfect image.
You could ask for Dramatic Wedding Photography where the key component is lighting, often provided by off camera flash. This requires every shot to be set-up correctly; so the pose, background and flash all combine to produce a dramatic images.
And finally there's Documentary Wedding Photography or Reportage as it's also known. Here the photographer captures events throughout the day as they happen making the best use of the available light, so needing little by way of lighting set-up, and not asking for poses. Some wedding photographers just use this style of photography to tell the story of the wedding.
So let's talk about my style of wedding photography.
I believe that most couples want two things from their photos of the wedding:-
1) The "story". They want to look back through an album and see images that "bring it all back". They want to see the little things that they remember, the things that they didn't see but make them smile.
2) They want to look back in years to come and see themselves at their absolute best. If you can't look great on your wedding day then when?
I believe that combining the Documentary style of wedding photography and the Artistic/Dramatic style provides everything most brides want.
You get the story of the day as it unfolds with no fuss or intrusion from me - but I don't think just those images go far enough. Therefore I will, on several occasions throughout the day draw the newly weds.aside for some Artistic or Dramatic shots. Every location, even inner city registry offices have somewhere to get some great shots; good lighting, interesting backgrounds that will produce those photos that show you at your very best - great pose, good light, the right background....
It only takes a few minutes to get these shots as I will have done all the research and set-up ready for you to simply take your position and smile (actually I'll never ask you to smile!)
Once it's all over I'll head off home - even if it's midnight I'll download all the images from my camera to my PC for security. In the morning I'll copy those to a separate drive as well.
From the several hundred images I'll select the best 200 or so - these are processed individually through Lightroom to adjust every aspect of every image to perfection.
These processed images are uploaded to the website where you can view, download to you PC, or print.
All images are full resolution and copyright free.
I'll then use software to create an album for you as a starting point for you to create exactly the album you want. When that's done I'll do the work of uploading the images to the Online Supplier - you can just sit back and wait for it to be delivered.
