Hi - I'm Allen
a documentary / editorial wedding photographer based in Suffolk
(and according to Google the Best In Suffolk)
Becoming possibly the best wedding photographer in Suffolk (as mentioned what exactly is "best"?) has taken many years and non stop application of Kaizen (continuos improvement)
Initially I needed to find "My" style of wedding photography.
This is dictated by several factors; equipment - editing - personality - relationship with the wedding couple and more.
I quickly decided that I disliked the "do this, do that, stand there" approach that many wedding photographers have so I leant more towards the documentary, editorial approach.
My photography equipment has seen so many changes!
From starting out with quite long focal length zoom lenses and big professional camera bodies I experimented with smaller more discrete cameras and then onto small prime lenses and then to equipment that replicated the subtle and softer 60's film photo look that I found myself falling in love with for weddings.
As a result I shoot weddings with a Leica M10 and a modern Nikon but using older lenses with character
None of these are the easiest to use as a wedding camera but combined with 10+ year old lenses they produce magical, captivating images that with a small amount of post processing could easily be a Kodak or Fuji film photograph.
